Talked with a recruiter today that says I'll orientate out of NC. She quoted me 2500-3000 a week for miles. Starting me a .41cpm and possible 6cpm for miles quarterly. I'm not concerned about the bonuses at this point but would like to hear from any OTR guys and what their miles actually look like.

I've talked to some guys that say 2200 steady every week, others have said 2500+ is usually what they see, but most that I've talked to on radio or in t/s's have said more like 1500-1800.

Anyone have real info on this currently?

    Thanks

jb hunt doesn't do over the road. if your going for company driver. based on what the 300 or so jb drivers I talked to said. once you get close to the 6 to 700 dollar mark. they cut out the miles for the week. .41 cpm.?????? they use to pay .48cpm. so I guess the rumors are true. jb slashed the drivers pay. low balling ba***rs.

Lady I spoke with today told me its OTR. Out 12 and home 2, or 21 and 3. IDK what they used to pay, but she told me .41 cpm. Again, told me OTR and average between 2500 - 3000 a week. I very in tune to the dcs or accounts they have now, but I have also talked to plenty of drivers that told me they are otr. I was told East of 35 is where I'd be.

I've heard rumors of cutting pay upwards of the $800 mark, yet this lady told me potential of 60k + first year. Figured I'd post to get some opinions.

Yes, JB does have an OTR division, while it is not as big as it once was, it still exists. And why would a company whose business is to move freight want to limit how much freight a driver has? If the driver doesn't move the freight, the company doesn't make money. Where's the logic in that?

Trying? Is this intermodal thing something new? If doing something successfully for over 20 years counts as trying, then Yes, JB is trying to work something out with the railroads.

JB is a joke.. Just left Intermodal department, bcuz they said 2000 - 2500 miles weekly & it was regional, home weekends, sounded like a good gig, but no... not so much.. spent too much time at the rail yard and too much time broken down.. found a better company (i hope) , but good luck to ya.. they lie!
However, u say out of NC.. they do have the Intermodel, and also a dedicated "regional" acct. out of Charlotte.. gets u home weekends...

I do 2000-2500 mi a week consistently, in 5 days with two full days off a week. I also hit the rails every day, sometimes twice. If I sit too long at a place, I put in for extra pay for sitting. If my truck is in the shop too much, I would have asked to get into a more reliable truck. Good luck in your next venture though.

Yahh... thks, I did switch trucks and got one equivalent to the one i had & still had issues.. finally asked for a newer truck (I've seen several getting prepared at shop for drivers in my fleet) , and my DM said there where no other trucks available.
My truck is now 200 miles away from where I live, with many of my belongings in it.. Truck has been at Freightliner for over a week, and is still there.. just doesn't seem right. :biggrin_25510:

Pertaining to the drug test. I shave my head, and Im pretty much a hairless rat for body hair, however I have a 3/4 inch gotee. Can they pull from facial hair to do folicle test?

Also, on the road test, am I require to double clutch? Never really worked for a large company and been wondering these things.

Also, the physical test.....are they hooking you up to monitors and treadmills or just having you do basic stuff for this test?

    Gotee will work..
in charlotte, as long as u shift & drive good, the test is a breeze ..
i was only hooked to heart monitor when doing the step climber, heart rate can't raise above a certain level.. It's all quite simple.. Good luck!
