If a monkey bit me, they would give me nothing. If I got poop thrown on me by a monkey they would do nothing. I personally never force my drivers to do anything unsafe, it is a liability issue after all. In fact at my terminal, we will never force a driver to do anything, we have the man power so if I driver only wants to work 2 hours, that's on him or her.

I know dcs does things differently but I have zero experience with that so I can't comment on that

Welcome to the seedy underside of the trucking industry, the very definition of being crushed between a rock and a hard place.

Driver for 17 years and counting, ###'t terminal manager for 6 months and counting.

You should buy stock in Kleenex for all the crying you do. Man up,not many drivers like the boroughs but they do it. Hitting a snow mound is a preventable bone head move so why shouldn't they have reported it? You knew what you were getting into when signing on with JB hunt correct? Put your Big Boy pants on and move on...

It's good to see former drivers in management, they hire college kids at my terminal straight out of school

It was a trick question. William Hickey asked it on Wings once.

I'm calling bs on wages. You start off making 0.33 a mile and 26 for drop/hook and 45 for live loads. Let's say you drive 400 miles in one day. Start off at cy, get a cross town to 47th and take a cruise to southern Illinois. This is going to take you 8/9 hours. On the way back you may get an mt move but 0.33x400=132+26+20+15=193.

So you've made 193 dollars working 10 hours. Now 193x5=965. After taxes that's around 780 net. A six day week might get you around 1200 gross or 1300 if there's a bonus for coming in on the weekend. Where in the hell are you getting 1600 a week? Seriously, show me the math.

My terminal pays .375 hub miles. 26.25 drop 40.25 live. This driver makes that in 5 days, all my drivers only work 5 days. This person does that probably by not doing proper pre trips etc and I told this individual there's a really close eye on him/her one slip up and that could be it. I have 0 reason to make this up or exaggerate. What would I gain? I can care less if someone wants to work here or not. Like I said this person is a freak of nature, most guys aren't willing to put in their full 70, it's tiring

I'm paid salary, we have something called an fm score card which ranks us against other fleet managers. Each board has a goal of stops per day so lazy drivers would bring me down in that aspect. I personally don't pay too much attention to that fm score card because I think it's bs. I try to help my new guys as much as possible since I don't think 3 days of training is nearly enough.

Pay is close to what I was making as a driver, a lot of drivers make more than what I do now, and they earn every penny out there
