Worked for JB for 7 years and ran the target dedicated account. All drop and hook and could be early. consistantily was a day ahead of time. I ran the same route every week, almost got boring but knowing the roads and construction was a nice beney to have. I'd average 950-1000 a week and wasn't hard to bring home 1100 a week, all depends on if things went just right. I liked them alot , only problem i had when i first started was my dispatcher. Got rid of him, got a new one and it went up hill from there. Like any other company, jb is what you make of them, and alot of the bad rap is more the driver and not the company. Only reason i left is i got out of otr driving. Prefer sleeping in my own bed and being home everyday.

recruiters can bend the truth a with any company, the best source is talk to the drivers. I have been on a DCS account for JB for over 10 years and love my job. I got a friend hired on intermodal out of st louis last year and he just loves it.

I'm going to orientation on the 11th for JB Hunt local intermodal out of Kansas City. I was told I should average $850 a week work 5 days a week and be home every day. Sounds good to me. I've been otr for another large company for 3 1/2 years and am ready to be home every night. If anyone on here knows anything about the local intermodal jobs I am curious to see if they can hold up to what they have told me so far. I have good expectations.

Congrats you were hired right into a local spot. I got a buddy Hired on out of KC last year and now He is a local st louis guy. He did the regional runs for a bit. He has enjoyed working there and is glad he got the local spot. I think you will like it to. I am sure home everynight means that, but dont hold your breath if you get stuck out of hours somewhere, If you get a daycab you pretty much a home everynight guy

Holy crap...the original post for this thread contains so much backwards info that this entire topic needs to just be deleted or split off.

I have a friend that called JB Hunt this last Friday and wanted to go over the road and they told him that he cant go over the road with them anymore. They dont run their trucks otr anymore. You have to go to DCS. Or be an O/O or L/P with them to be otr. I thaught that was crazy but it shows where they are making all their money now. Maybe they will be able to hold onto drivers better with it all being DCS accounts.

Wow, L/P Regional? Doesnt seem like their would be much money involved in that. I could very well be wrong though!

    """I have a 401k with a 25% company match ""

JB Hunt matches 3% if you put in 6% so where you got this from is unreal false !!!
