Do they get a fuel surcharge for every trailer on the railroad too?

That i don't know, but I'd have to say probably to some extent. I work for their OTR division, the one that they are shrinking, but I have done the rail loads in the past. Pretty much everything that's going across the country that isn't perishable or time sensitive goes on the rail. A load to Seattle might get picked up in Virginia, then trucked 300 miles to the rail yard in Charlotte, it's then railed to Portland, Oregon, where another driver takes it the 200 miles to Seattle. Putting it on the train doesn't eliminate all the trucking, just the majority of it. (the fun part as far as I'm concerned.)

Maybe I should go to the rail div. for some job security, I don't know. I've been offered the dedicated jobs like that before, and they always come with a 10 cent a mile pay cut. But the miles are falling fast, I'm lucky to get 2000 here lately when I'm used to averaging 2500 a week.
I'm hoping this equipment sell off will bump up our miles. I'm just bothered by the idea if they keep selling trucks, how many does it take before they start laying drivers off?
