Id say go for it, only thing that I can get out of JB right now is SE Regional. I haven't heard anything from any of the other companies that i've applied to so more than likely im going to have to take it until the economy picks up,,,,or mcdonalds calls lol,,,, i've got a good work history and driving record but they are the only ones that call. And do you ever notice how its always,,,,*we need 15 drivers for this route/ location*

    JB Hunt Intermodal

Ya, I see that JB Hunt is always looking for drivers to haul rail freight out of Harrisburg,Pa. The pay is 44,500 per year with two days off a week and you drive within a 200 mile radius of Harrisburg. Sounds great! Now, I look at the job listings on the internet a few times a week all year. The thing that worries me about applying for this job is this......why are they advertising this same job every week throughout the entire year? There must be some reason that they can't keep the drivers on this run happy. I wish there was someone out there I could ask that has worked for them.

Idk. But I can tell you that I was a controlled regional driver for the sw6 aka fill in guys for thedcs dvd accounts. I left because of bad driver treatment and unreasonable appt times....its like this--heres your appt time. You say its too tight. They say no its ok...you say ok. Then run it..then you're out of time..then you finish you multiple stop run having gone over your 14. Then the write ups. Then the probation. The you quit. I was on the office depot acct for the southern CA area to Oregon.

I stumbled into this specific gig on a mystery ad in Craigslist. Of course they talk it up all roses $54k first year no problem they say, first shift available, starts at a reasonable 0800 instead of o'darkhundred like every other local gig (yeah I realize this means staying later). What scares me is they use this salary/CPM/xpay scheme instead of hourly. I'm not afraid of work, and it's supposedly nearly all D&H, but this is coming from a mega carrier recruiter. Cascadias also scare me! Looking for a local gig is kinda depressing when you're used to riding in style in a new T660 with a 13. I know, woe is me...

    Anybody on this account?

Driver don't you know the grass is greener on the other side? Didn't you see that nice looking family man with the clean Pro Star in that ad? That could be you! So quit now and come to the Dark I mean high pay side.

JB has accounts that you can top 42k to 70k easy. Intermodal can be one if you are the type to run, I have seen this and people can call me a liar. I am on a dcs account and I am up there on the scale too.

You are not a liar. I am on the DCS as well and made 55,000 last year. The great thing about JB is that you can always go to different acccounts if there is an opening. Trust me they have tons of accounts and tons of work available.

The OP mentioned C&S in Bethlehem PA. I know for a fact that this account has been strugling to keep good drivers. To be honest Grocery sucks. I did it with a different company a while ago and do not like food service. You will get paid for your time though. I'd say a driver on that account could easily gross 900 to 1100 per week. And like I said, you can always transfer out in 6 months. They have a flatbed division down the road and also just started doing Steelcase up in Hazleton.

Would you recommend intermodal out of Allentown over C&S? Recruiter said I would make about the same and be home weekends right off with intermodal, but being a two year reefer rookie I find pulling groceries to be a more comforting thought than a big scary rail yard. Any idea how much time I'd have to put into C&S before I could be off weekends?
