Sid, 6,000 to 8,000 miles a week? C'mon, get real. I ran team for 15 years and there's no way! You might get 6,000 MPW sometimes. 8,000, that's out. Do the.math. That translates to over 400,000 miles a year.

Any real drivers out there think this can happen? Keep it real man. I already got my britches legs rolled up!

ok do the math....lets see 8000 miles in seven days is 1142.85 miles a day, divid by 2 is 571 miles each, easily done in the alotted 11 hrs of driving allowed to do legally. but it comes down to what about the other things that have to be done, eating, showering, sleeping just to name a few. posible but unlikely.

AFAIK, unless you are running a drop and hook team, you cannot average 1142 miles a day. Especially in the winter. I would be very surprised if there are any teams that average 300k a year consistently. Been there, done that.

So glad I found this out now, a jb hunt recruiter has been calling me for the last 2 days even though I only have 2 mos otr and 1 mo school, he told me over the phone that I would be out 14 days and have 4 days off. I did not buy into it.

I worked for JB and didn't have any problems. Came off the road because I had some medical problems and got prescribed narcotics. Wasn't hurt on the job, previous injury I was dealing with.

Nothing wrong with my DAC, actually got good recommendations from them. I got my miles, paid what I was supposed to be paid on time, home on time every time, not left sitting.

I had a good experiance. Now, with that I have to say I got along with my dispatcher/fleet manager. I also had very low idle time, no late loads, and zero log violations.

I did do some favors for him. Such as, pulling a hot load every now and then. He rewarded me with a JB long haul (1900 mile load). Most loads with JB average anywhere between 600 - 800 miles. I only bumped the doc 3 times and never saw the inside of my trailer.

I may have been the exception to the rule. I tried to go back with them but I have been off the road for a year and need at least 3 months first seat experience within the last year.

I was coming back at my old wage, but lost my seniority. JB is going more regional though. They currently own 13% of the piggyback industry and are expected to double that next year. So most everything will be container haul for them in the next 5 years. They are ramping up their governors to 63mph with cruise control and 65 on the floor. The last thing they are doing is going to real time logs. The system on their new trucks reports to the minute when the truck moves. Log it as you do it with them or get fired.

Since I wasn't picked up with them I almost made the mistake of going with Swift. Glad that didn't work. I'm now with another company that is as good but pays better.

well, I say to each his own. If most of you don't know by now, i'm the JBHT guy whom people are asking questions.

If you don't want to drive for us, More power to you. There's nothing i'm going to say that'll change that.

You mentioned there are some trucking companies that no longer use DAC, can you tell me a few of them. I have been black balled by Swift because I left their employment twice and now they have something called a "company policy violation" on my DAC report and will not tell me or any potential employers what it is and I am stuck not being able to find a company that will hire me because of it. Can you help me out.
