Intresting. I was at a walmart dc Saturday picking up a load. A fellow JB driver (intermodal) was picking up a load also. He handed the clerk a piece of computer printed paper pointed at it in correct places and said in heavy African accent "I get this trailer, this city". I thought it a anomly, maybe not.

To Illini: I don't work for JB Anymore. Haven't for 4 Months now. I know you're freezing, but it's not my fault. Maybe i'm taking your message the wrong way, but ok then. I highly doubt that you see many companies going out and retrofitting/replacing a full fleet (20,000+) trucks with APUs (edit: After re-reading your post about Wal-Mart's trucks, I want to revise this to say how many actual Trucking Only companies you see going out and doing it. Wal-Mart could throw money away on big Pete 379s with Cats all around and if it didn't make money, use it as a tax write-off)...however, if you get one, HANG ON TO IT.

to Frog: You have no clue how many heavy African, Jamaican, Mexican, Russian, German, and Polish accents I had talked to in my time as a recruiter for JBHT.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------I don't know about freezing, I shut my truck off overnite when It's it in the 20's and I'm nice and warm. But,I do pay for the fuel. I was JB company driver for 1 yr 3 mos, know where you coming from. Don't go anywhere you ARE going to idle sooner or later. If you get wrote up, before you fax write up back to FM, write in your side of story. It doesn't really matter if FM agrees with the policy or not, it's company that sets the policy. The FM has to answer to his/her boss why your idle is high, his/her boss has to answer why idle in their fleets are higher, and so on.
Don't take it personal, higher ups just don't allow common sense to be used by FM's.

OK HockyDriver, how about you posting your cell phone number for us all. Then when we run into these " ALL AMERICAN, ENGLISH SPEAKING " JB Hunt drivers, you can TRANSLATE the ENGLISH they are speaking. And you can speak their ENGLISH to give them directions, because most of them are LOST!
You went to CDL DRIVING SCHOOL??? Maybe you should be driving for the PIZZA Place.

NO, guess again, started when I was 21 in Orlando Fl., don,t sit around buffet tables as you must or you wouldn't know what they talk about. Never driven anything with more than 18 gears, and no, I don't grind them. I only use ONE log book at a time and get lots of sleep. I did learn to drive when I was 12, my father taught me in a 1974 F-100 pickup, 300 6cyl. and 3 on the tree, on my uncles farm. Didn't grind them them then either. And yes, it does matter where your roots are! My loads get there on time, undamaged and VERY safely! So let me guess, you seem to be "one of those guys" who thinks he knows everything and your not even close. Now that is PATHETIC ! !

Don't work for DAC companies. Its pretty easy actually. In 5+ yrs of driving i've only worked for one company that reported to DAC.

You gotta be kidding, I know every one of those foreign drivers have to be American, Can get a truck without references, just can't get an apartment. Way to go checks and balances!

I didn't have that problem with JB... mine was with Western Express. I told them I needed 2 weeks or less off to try to either save marriage or end it. Then Bambi put in mine that I was serving time in jail ?????? I found out while talking to them on the phone, the lady changed it while talking to me, or I would've gotten a lawyer for falsely accusing & anything else I could get them for.
