J.B Hunt Intermodel

Jb Hunt has a no electronics policy while ur driving but I see ppl breaking that rule daily. It seems like they give a little leeway with bluetooths. Jb Hunt does have company officials that ride around reporting drivers. I know what all the managers cars look like so I kno what to watch out for.

 

i can second this one....true, very true.....they are relentless when it comes to safety...

 

So how do they feel about having a CB in your truck or GPS? Do they trucks have stereos in them? No Bluetooths....smh. can't believe that.

 

A CB's are fine so is the GPS. With a GPS u set ur destination before u start driving. Basically JB doesn't want their drivers texting, talking, or on the laptop or other electronics distractions while they drive. If tht's too strict for u JB probably isn't ur best fit.

Dude they told me 1000-1300 week gross but i started talking to chicago intermodal drivers and they told me different. I talked to 5 different ones. It scared me so i told them i changed my mind. Then the recuriter told me i would get paid hub miles then changed his tune. He lied to me 5 different times in a row. It sounds #### good but i changed my mind after he lied. Im suppose to go to orientation on monday the 7th. I just dont know what to think. They have a 2000 dollar sign on bonus. Wonder why. You cant get the 1000 until december 20. I guess they dont want people leaving. Im excited to start. They say you cant have weekends off after 90 days or so. I guess ill give it a try, unless i find out at next week that theres no way possible to get saturday and sunday off. Im ready to work hard my 5 days. The recruiter said they is no idle policy for intermodal and you can use a handfree device and talk onthe phone. Ive never been to any of these chicago rail yards. Are they easy to get to? Do they give you directions over the qualcomm? Ive never dealt with qualcomm. Are you required to wear any type of uniform?

I was told they had an idle policy but it was set high enough to stay comfortable. I was ready for the 7th in louisville ky. But they failed to inform me you share a room for 4 days with someone and then you ride with a trainer for 2-5days. That was the deal breaker for me. Out of all the intermodal drivers i spoke with they said its in and out of the rail yards no problem. Directions will come over qualcomm and its very easy to use. I always see the drivers with a reflective vest on. Hope it works out for you. Let me know how it goes.
