Sooo since last tuesday, when i came off 4 days of breakdown to today (wednesday) ive gotten a little over 3600 paid miles and a reset in. Not much to complain about except this last load i picked up in newark nj, man thats no place for a rookie lol. You guys know the one im talking about where you back across the street to the dock, but hey im alive and no accidents.
Anyways i go from jersey to brighton michigan with a pp to pick up at the plant in michigan on 11th and deliver in philly on 13th(probably another place not for a rookie lol). Well since i didnt get unloaded till just now i figured no biggie ill pick up on the 12th and be in philly sometime in the afternoon on the 13th as i had no appointment ttime yet. Ofcourse i put in my departure and i get a confirmation of my next load but now it says pu is the 15th and delivers the 17th wtf is that lol. Night dispatch tells me to call my dm in the morning and figure out what he wants :/. I sure as hell hope he doesnt want me to sit for 4 days. Oh well all i can do is hope for the best.

I have been lurking reading about this whole sleep apena testing because it is so new and obviously not well explained to ANY of the drivers. As many of you know my Hubby is a trainer and a BIG GUY I have been on his ### about it for his health and for his baby daughter for quite awhile. Has nothing to do with how he looks as I fell in love with him bigger than he is now but I feel my JOB as his wife is to help him be the best he can be and as a mother I owe it to his Daughter who absoulty adores the ground her Daddy walks on to do all I can to make sure he is around for her. He has made great strides and lost weight....heck about 30 pounds. I am so proud of him....YES I still talk to him about exercising on his down time....making better food choices....eating out of the truck. I always will because how much I love him and want to have him around.

Imagine how proud I was when he had his DOT out of Hiram( he had to sit there so he went ahead and had his truck service done and his physical so when he got home that time with us wouldn't be interrupted. :) and he called me he was down to 17 inch neck and 33 BMI. YEA!!! he is under the magical number. I think he would pass the test as his snoring has gotten so much better almost non-existent at home since he lost that 30 pounds. But who wants to pay for the test and take the time and worry you may fail if you don't have to RIGHT??? WRONG the DR at Hiram gave him 6 months to get the test. Why you ask? No one can seem to answer it and when he presses for answers they tell him he "probably" won't have to take it. PROBABLY??? Does he or doesn't he? what are your rules anyway? Is it 17 AND 35 or 17 OR 35? They in the office can't answer. So he goes in today when he gets home an insists on an answer. They at first say don't worry about it he says NO I NEED to know. I need to know for me and for my trainees. WE ALL need to know what is YOUR RULE. They say their rule is 35 AND 17 but the Hiram DR said he had to have it done anyway and they don't know why. They have been having problems with him not filling out the paperwork properly so now MAYBE he is going overboard. WTF? So as it stands now we are waiting to find out if they even stick to their own rule of if that's arbitrary. I don't even understand how its a question but here we are!!! Now the office promised us an answer by 5pm tomorrow as Hubby kept pressing her as to WHEN we would have an answer.

Here is though a tidbit he did learn about this whole mess. IF you get flagged for the test and then fail you will have to sit 2 weeks at home while you use the machine and then they determine if its working for you or not and then you MAY get to go back to work if it brings you where you need to be. that is for everyone even those who don't wait until the past last minute to get the testing done. :) At this point that is 2 weeks with NO PAY minimum if you fail that sleep test. That is after you pay for the test. And now you can add to your list of worries that we really don't know what the numbers are you need to be under to comply. Hubby was told they are TRYING to figure out how to get insurance to pay something for that down time....TRYING

Well Ladies and Gents I will let you know what they say is it really 35 AND 17 or is it whatever number that DR decides he wants to use?

I was flagged in february for a 18" neck and 371 lbs. My doc gave me 3 months to get it done. $750 out of pocket for the deductible and to find out I don't have sleep apnea. The one good thing I got out if it was a kick for a lifestyle change. Now my weight is at 285 and still got another year left on my physical. I can't wait to retake my physical. Hopefully with the same doctor as ours was a #######. Him and his staff would flag you for anything possible.

I LOVE your attitude about it being the kick you need. I have been hubbys kick for awhile and he has been doing great. IF he had been over the rule we were told I would have NO complaint. Our complaint is he is under it and no one can answer the question WHY or even if he really has to take it or not. Our issue isn't the rules or the test our issue is WHAT IS THE RULE??
