Oh yes definitly harnesses from the dealer are expensive.. My taillight harness was all butchered up and constantly giving me problems where the previous owner had put a custom chrome tailight hanger off the bottom of the frame rails and did a hack job wiring it up. I checked and they wanted $170.00 for the harness from where it plugged into the main harness back to the tailights. All I really needed was that female part of the connection with some wires coming out of it. So I decided to cut all the mess off the original and re-use it. Did a very clean wire job on that one very proud of that sealed up as good as the factory. No tester or anything. Actually traced where all the wires went and what they did then drew a diagram to make the new harness.. Doubtful you would want to try this with an ecm harness though. KW Parts guy can probably give you the actual part # you need. Then you can call your local KW and get a price..
