Under what circumstances would a truck like this be a good purchase?

I'm no valuation expert but the price strikes me as high. Wouldnt you have assume that expensive CAT engine is on its last legs at that milage if it had never been overhauled?

I think he means this unit: http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsde...ID=3262055&lp=
For what it's worth, I considered buying from them in Greely, CO. recently. The salesman was helpful and willing to eat the fuel cost to drive the truck to denver for a dyno. I ended up passing on the deal when they wouldn't entertain price negotiation. Guess he thought I'd pay a used truck salesman his asking price for a 1.3 million mile pete. lol.

Way way overpriced. For the price they are asking, it should have a fresh rebuild.

I bought a 2000 Pete 379 with a 3406E CAT with 570,000 miles on it for $23,500. That KW is WAY over priced, for that price, all the rears, trans and engine should be fresh rebuilds, with new brakes and tires and fresh paint.

I agree that truck's way overpriced. #### sho-tyme your truck was a steal. How long ago was it that you bought it? I bought mine in Feb 2009 - used truck prices had been plummeting for many months and were at absolute rock bottom. That was probably the best time to buy a truck in the past couple of decades if one didn't have to finance. They're still relatively cheap but not so much as they were a couple of years ago.

That truck is for someone who wants to look cool first, make money second. Very nice looking rig, but #### 40k?

It's a nice looking truck...probably was someone's pride and joy for a long time. That price though, thought it looked retarded. $10k too high (at least) is my guess. An in-frame on a CAT runs $12-15k doesn't it?
