Just remember the fuel lines have nothing in them so you're gonna have to 'feed' it for a little while - I've used a propane tank at the air cleaner to pull fuel (and keep the engine running). It's much less harmful than ether.
Just my two cents (too late, of course, by now).
Get er done.
Just read the news about the ether issue... that's why I refuse to use it on a diesel... it might be okay for a car but you're better off spraying WD-40 or using a can of propane than use highly combustible substances like ether.
My younger Brother is a Diesel Mech and he strongly urges NOT using ether... for the obvious reason you've experienced.
Sorry for being too late. -
Now look at what you started!!!!! lolOscar the KW Thanks this. -
They check us here in Nebraska all the time. Even diesel pickups get checked. -
My battery went dead on my KWt800...ive tried jumping it off, letting them charge overnight..
finally after priming and pushinng fuel to it as i attempted to crank it... it started with ether but died within a few seconds!!!!!
Please Help!! -
My 5EK can be a pain, you had air int he lines and it drained the filter again. refill the filters and pump it up again, do not pump first. S Mine has been known o run off the filters for 3 or 4 minutes, so I will stand next it without locking down the hand pump and at the first miss start pumping it again, it keeps it running and all is well after that.
