We took delivery of our T680 in Nov 2012, right out of the dealership we had problems with the truck saying fuel filters clogged and the fuel gauge would drop to zero no matter how much fuel was in it. Took it back, sat at the dealership for 2 weeks. Called to ask why our new truck was still down only to find out they said they couldn't duplicate the problem so they never touched it. (would have been nice if they could've called us after the tech looked at it) Problem was never fixed but it ended up going away on its own.
Next issue we've experienced is the gauge cluster display scrambles digital nonsense when it's first woken up (open the drivers door) after sitting for a while. It still does this to date, but doesn't really effect anything and goes away within a few seconds.
Next issue is the interior cabinet latches keep breaking. The cubby over the drivers head has had a broken latch for a few months now. I'll order a new one soon. The closet latches broke less than a year into service. Took to the dealer to get it fixed under warranty. They wouldn't cover it because the in service date was 3 months after the purchase date, and we were a few weeks out of the 1 year warranty from date of purchase. Already had this fixed on our dime.
Next issue is the drivers door lock pin (the one in the door panel that goes up and down to indicate locked or unlocked) has fallen into the door and sometimes binds. I haven't taken the door panel off to assess, but I do have to have a spare key in my pocket because sometimes it will lock us out if we close the door.
No problems with the windshield cracking yet like others have mentioned, we're still on our original glass.
Aside from these issues, I do really like the truck. It drives nice, the creature comforts are all there, and it gets pretty #### good economy on the highway.Grijon Thanks this. -
oh I almost forgot about this one...
This isn't actually a problem with the truck, more a problem with the last dealer who was working on it. But we had the truck in for service, and one of the techs enabled TPMS in the OBC. Problem with that is our truck doesn't have TPMS, when scrolling through the OBC functions I selected TPMS which I had never seen in our menu before. When I did that it locked up the ENTIRE electrical system in the truck. CECU and Cluster Communication Error came up on the OBC display, and NOTHING electrical worked anymore. No headlight control, no wiper control, no turn signals, no brake lights, no starter, no gauges, etc.
This happened in Vancouver B.C., so I had to head over to Inland Kenworth over in Burnaby B.C. after getting bump started by our other truck. The reset the computer, and I had the tech disable TPMS from our OBC. Problem solved.Grijon Thanks this. -
With FS2500 made 120,000 miles on single oil change.
Tired to seek DELO synthetic on stock across the country.
Switched to Shell Rotella T6. On stock EVERYWHERE. Moreover, it became cheaper over last month from ~$21 to $19.55. MOREOVER, they provide a promotion in amount of $5 per gallon from March 01 till May 31 2015.
Mobil1 while remains the best oil still expensive and mostly unavailable (in walmart).
Applied XADO.
Changed fan belt (a/c belt didn't).

Looking at buying a new T680 and ordering to get it spec'd the way I want. But anxious to get going and found one on a local dealer's lot that's close to what I'm looking for. Has MX13 485, 13 speed, and 3.25 rears. If I'm running I-81 south through the mountains a lot will that be too fast a rear axle or can I just plan on running slower in 11th or 12th? I was thinking 3.55.

I have a 2015 T680.
Paccar 485,13sp,3:36 gears.
Pulls fine and gets good MPG at 67-70MPH.
Lifetime mileage 7.8 mpg.
I haul a mix of heavy and light.
114000 miles and no issues.Grijon, Rick5065 and Raiderfanatic Thank this. -
Hate this truck, the engineers at KW never lived in a truck. With all their experience one would think they'd ask DRIVERS not engineers what works and what doesn't...gee whiz! This truck might look great but otherwise it's a total disappointment.

Thanks Dogals....good to know. I'd be very happy with 7.8!
