We purchased 2 new 2012 T660 trucks with cummins ISX 500 engines. Has anyone had issues with a bracket on the Regen exhaust breaking and shooting the heat into the frame rail melting airlines and causing and air leak under the driver side of the truck. Both of these trucks did this before they even had 100,000 miles on them. One was covered under warranty and the other was just past a year old and they said it didn't cover the labor under warranty. LOL go figure Kenworth not standing up to their product. Not to mention one of these trucks spent 35 days in the shop because there was coolant in the oil. Now at 64,000 miles another oil analysis shows 5.9 % fuel in the oil at 14000 mile oil change and then brought the truck back after 2000 miles for another analysis and it is showing 4.7 fuel in the oil after just 2000 miles. They are telling me no big deal just drop it off and we will check it out. LOL no big deal wouldn't this cause premature engine wear. I am looking for advice from other owners of these newer trucks and problems your having. We bought 2 2013 trucks before all these problems came up and I am concerned that these trucks might put us out of business. They cant even stay out of the shop for more than a month or so at a time. I don,t know if I should get a lawyer to get Kenworth's attention or what. Seriously on one of these trucks with only 70,000 miles has been in the shop 8 times towed once and a total of almost 50 days out of service in a 8 month time span. we only run 70,000 miles or so a year and I can only imagine the trucks that are having to do 200,000 miles a year the problems they are having.

Have 3 2012 T660's 2 are GEMS the 3rd like yours is AFRAID to leave the KW shop. Worst luck I had with KW since 1997 and that was a W900L studio with AIRGLIDE 200 suspension.

I know this a late reply, I have a 2013 volvo with 450 cummins ISX, it's been in the shop at least 50times and is in the shop again , I have had electrical issues right when I bought it , spindle fell off replaced batteries, alternator, battery switch and starter all under 50,000 miles and now after treatment issues exhaust issues right after it hit 110k miles ,emissions warranty is done , only covers 60months or 100kmiles that's cummins, it's been sitting at volvo since Monday and they have Cummins engineers looking at the reports cause no one knows why it won't stop regeneration, 7th injector is clean, doser valve has been replaced , cleaned dpf filter already , did and recalibration they said they have done everything.... it's not kW it's not Volvo , the issues are with cummins , they still don't have there hand on how to work the after treatment system and are having issues , but no recalls on any after treatment , I talked to my Volvo sales person and told him he sold me a lemon and this is what he said, sir I'm sorry to hear your having issues but it was a very bad winter and a lot of trucks had issues and all the issues are because it's a Volvo with a cummins engine, and he said bye. I only have 158k miles on this , I have advised a lawyer but said Indiana has no lemon laws for trucks and that as long as everything you take your truck in and they fix the problem you took it in for then you can't do anything, only if the problem continues over and over you probably would hire a lawyer.
    hope that that helps
