Ok so I got the T880 on order. Ended up trying the MX-13 VS the ISX. Can anyone tell me what there fuel millage is & input is on the brand new 500HP MX engine. I don't want to hear about the old MX motors I know there was issues. I am hoping to get some better MPG with the MX I pull 105,500lbs so I know it may be a touch low on power but I am hoping to pick up .5MPG vs our ISX engine. Hopefully it was not a mistake.
We have one Allison automatic & wile I wanted to try a new Autoshift I was dissapointed with Eaton our KW dealer tried to work with them on our setup & in the end they just did not want to work with us for our setup.
Allison on the other hand has been a great product & they even flew a guy out to our jobsite to build us a custom tune for the tranny so this truck will have a new Allison as well they stand behind there product & so far has been a solid tranny for our haul.

You should've ordered the Ultra-shift plus, not a auto shift or an allison. To clarify the auto-shift has a clutch peddle and ultra shift does not. I think you would've seen better fuel economy with a Ultra-shift plus 18spd than with a 6spd allison. I don't think the 500hp MX has been out long enough to be a lot of feed back, but I can tell you the lower hp rating MX is spectacular!

I tried to order a Ultra-shift but Eaton would not work with our dealer as we need a tranny that will crawl back to our trailers wile the driver is out of cab via the starter. We hook up up to 17 times a day with our 18-speeds.
I also hope the T880 will not have problems with wire routing & such I am hoping they had those issues worked out with the T660 as as per our dealer the T880 is much in the same as far as design. -
I don't think you'll be disappointed with the power too much. I guess you don't want this, but the company I haul for a lot had 100 or so 450 MX motors, and Peterbilt wound up trading them back for Cummins trucks. Lots of electronic issues, hopefully they've figured them out. I drove one for a week while my truck was in the shop, thought it ran decent. They are lighter than the ISX, but I don't think you'll see much different fuel economy pulling big loads, unless you're empty one way. Just my .02.

Thanks no we are unloaded 1/2 of the time so this is were I am thinking I can gain that .5 mpg the log truck owner ops I talked to in WA said they were gaining .5 to .7 vs there ISX motors. It's a gamble as the ISX motors have been good to us for the most part.

I have a C12 that I run right now, and it seems like I really notice a gain versus a larger displacement motor on one way hauls, not as much OTR when I'm loaded 80%+. I hope you will post your experience. I'm going to be looking at a new truck in the next year or so, and as my username implies, I'm not a big ISX fan, but I'm gun shy of the Paccar, and I'm not much of a Volvo or Freightliner guy. I really liked the way that Paccar drove, decent power and light weight, I think they'll be a good motor if they fixed the electric/sensor stuff. Is the T880 a new version of the T800? I haven't heard of that one.

HDT magazine had a right up on it back in may (http://www.truckinginfo.com/article/story/2013/05/kenworth-s-t880-day-cab-tractor.aspx). -
We bought 3 579 pete's with the 2013 455 mx ..currently getting 6.7 mpg (US) pulling Northern Ontario with no more than 100 ,000 pounds..Mostly around 80 000 Lb trucks are a year old , about 130 000 miles on them..

My paccar engine is doing good 205,000 mi and not a hickup. Except some new trk teething problems. Last 5 quarters on ifta report avg 6.6 mpg. I drive fast but overall doing good
