A few trucks will continue to idle if you bump the cruise control button. Some companies are wise to this and made it so this doesn't work.
-
This used to work, release tractor brakes and use trailer to park...bump cruise......
No? Get stick for throttle.....
No? Yell on radio for ECM guy to plug in and turn off shut down....remember tho, carrier watching mpg's. Throw a little cash in tank to balance mpg and keep carrier off balance. Also works to get fuel bonus....and tax deductible!!
Good luck... -
Chock the wheels real good as in #### near park on top of them and then release the brakes . Or as stated above apply trailer release tractor it actually should work cuz if it didn't you would be shutting down in rush hour lol
-
yep, use trailer brake ONLY.
however, there may be a possibility where truck may still shut down. if it senses no movement after a period of time. if it's possible for ecm to have such parameters. -
The weather in Az. isn't all that bad, just do the window and flaps thingy and hang in there!
-
The parking brake trick rarely works anymore, especially on newer trucks. The last 4 trucks I have had (2) 2012's, (2) 2013's and it didn't work on any of them. They will still shut off after 15 mins of non movement with the parking brake released
