2006 KW T600 Daycab with MXS C-15

    Hello All,

    My wife and I have recently found out that we are expecting our 1st child in October this year. So with that said I'm looking to come off the road and try a local gig with my company pulling containers to get home daily as I don't want to miss this life experience. I'm not getting rid of my W900L but will be purchasing a daycab to help on fuel expenses while I'm running this local gig for awhile. I'm currently looking at a 2006 KW T600 daycab with a CAT C-15 MXS 475HP motor. My W900L is a 2000 model with a C-16 7CZ 625HP so yes I do know I will notice a huge difference between the 2 trucks in power. But can anyone give me some insight on the MXS??? The truck has 890K miles on it with no known engine work done. I appreciate any input anyone can give me on the MXS. Thanks in advance!

    The MXS in my opinion is a good ACERT, there were some updates to the previous ones but it should have come with them from the factory. I think as a rule you always want the latest version of something right before the manufacturer makes a major change. Gives them time to get the design bugs out etc. I have seen the Acerts go far past a million before an event their fair share of the time. The ACERTS and the PEEKS share the same pitfall. Most don't understand the technology and are scared of it and want to "convert" it back to what they know cause it can't be fixed they say. It is a fact that as expensive as it may be converting to a single turbo will make her romp and stomp. But there are those around that can make it do almost as good, just by getting it right. Naturally the wiring harness under the valve cover is an issue the IVA's seem to make that worse. Most want to spend big dollars before replacing the harness that usually fixes it. Keeping the engine oil clean seems to help IMO. I have a couple of customers that went from engine service at 20 thousand miles to 15 thousand miles. By the records they are spending way less on new oil than they were on keeping to the check engine light out before.
    That is a slick W900 for sure. Staying home is a decision you won't regret I wish I had made it.

    My dad's cousin t600 with mxs or nxs got to million mile and still runs fine. In what years the mxs were in the trucks because his t600 is 07.
