    I'm used to Peterbilt 379's and an occasional Freightliner Classic. I'm not liking this #### throttle pedal. I just feel like I'm gonna mash it through the floor board all the time. Is there anyway I can get a pedal that's like the older ones where it's just like the brake pedal. Instead a piece of metal comming out with a pancake on it.

    Feel ya. Drove mostly older-ish Pete 379 Ex hoods most my whole career til circumstance necessitated a change to a carrier with the new fancy stuff. Miss my green lady on SO many days but it is what it is. The new throttles ARE super sensitive and the engines react MUCH faster than my old Cats did. Been shiftin' llike a rookie again. LOL. It gave me fits too. If you wear boots of any kind this is what helped me get the feel of the throttle pedal;

    Curling right foot toes inside the boot. Like I'm trying to grab the pedal or loose it with just my toes. Not foot mash and release like I used to. Just curl my toes to up RPMS, flex them to the roof of my boot to lower them.

    Took a bit of practice and I had to turn off the xxxxx box at the truck stop because I'd sit Captain and just watch the tach curling and loosing trying to get to target RMPS slow and smooth. Just me, the new machine, my right foot and curling and uncurling toes til I got to know her.

    Hope this helps.

    Yeah I drove mechanicals and a 460 Cummins for years in a 2000 379. I like this truck but the pedal is driving me nuts. These KWs sit really high too. I feel like I'm on top of the Eiffel Tower.

    The Cat pedals will interchange if you have a Cat. Get one out of a 379 calibrate it and roll. Cummins I have no idea the last cummins we had was a big cam III

    TwinStickPeterbilt Thanks this.

    Find you an old valve spring and put under it! It'll save on fuel too because you can only push half way! :biggrin_25526:

    Thats a big help. Thanks, I'll find one to put in here. I can't stand not having my whole pedal.

    LOL. Yup felt like it was tipping over on curves too even at 5 MPH below the recommended speed. Going from a Pete 379 pulling a covered wagon for 15 years to a condo pulling a dry box has been a trip in many areas. Took quite a bit of getting used to.
