We have three 2013 Pete 386s; their brakes squealed for about the first six months til they got worn-in.

I would guess brake shield rubbing if it's doing it when brakes are not being applied

    bcp122376 Thanks this.

It's the harder brake shoes they are using that is causing the screeching noise. This is their solution to the new shorter stopping distance requirements.
The only cure is to replace the shoes with the older softer lining shoes.
Kenworth probably won't do it... but you could.

Yeah I have the same trouble..went to 2 dealerships.

Finally found a tech who said it's due to a coating on the brakes.
Check your build sheet and see if you have reduced stopping brakes..usually they're used in coast to coast applications.

He said the regional type situations in stop and go traffic causes it.

It should go away in time..mone are starting to quiet down..I have 19K on my truck.

I had that problem too and then suddenly the squeezing turned into a scary grinding growl. Turns out the auto slack adjusters were defective. Dealer replaced slacks and drums.
