I believe it has a fuel line problem, could it be the lines from the tanks to the fuel block going bad? Does 6.5 to 7mpg,but m11,and 11.1 60 series, could kick it's but going up hills !!!
2000 W900L 6nz caterpillar good fuel mileage but poor up hill performance!!!

Must just be running on two cylinders, joking. Have programming checked to see if soft accelerator and soft cruise is turned on. If not, what kind of boost pressure is it putting out, if you have manifold pressure gauge. Fuel pressure? ATAAC leak? Turbo waste gate plate stuck open? Turbine fin damage on turbo. Do you have a pyrometer? What are egt readings? Overhead adjustments way out of whack? Take it to a good reputable tuner and let them check it out. M11 and 11.1, you should only see them briefly as you pass them, smiling, all the while.

Thanks for the advice!I have a grand rock true dual exhaust aerocab kit,and I have a robsredford 600hp American brakesaver tune, fuel temp harness,5232 injector codes, and 74 and-19 fls,fts fuel#s,this really didn't do nothing for the truck,I'm "not"saying his work is bad,he knows his caterpillars, but when he told me to switch to the fleetguard fs1023 fuel filter, that's when it woke up a little bit,and that's why I think I've got fuel lines going bad!

The fitting under filter was known to be way to small, ck. if it has been updated.

Thanks baha, yes the filter head has been updated! The injector height adjustment was found to be 2 full turns past the rite setting, with a cat injector height tool,it was found, and corrected by a kenworth, and caterpillar expert from N.Carolina! Could this possibly be what is causing my pulling power to suffer? Now remember,I'm getting killer good fuel mileage though!

I wasn't familiar with the fs 1023, but from what I read, it's nothing more than a wire mesh screen with no water separation capability, other than settling by specific gravity. That would worry me, because your injectors don't live long compressing water. Back to your fuel issue, do you have a restriction gauge plumbed in to the line at your filter base where the 1023 is? Are you running the factory KW setup, or do you have a modified system? I would want to see what your fuel pressure is, outbound to cylinder head, when you are boosted up and pulling. Restriction gauge will tell you what's going on before the pump, pressure gauge will tell you what's going on after final filter to fuel gallery in head. Process of elimination, also, outbound pressure could be falling off from weak check valve on return, etc. Does engine start o.k. after setting over night? If you suspect fuel lines, rig you up a fuel hose where the suction line goes into first filter, and run the other end to tank via fuel cap opening and secure it where it wont come out while driving. Get it reprimed and go for a road test to see what happens.

Thanks,got factory kw setup,but with a few 45 degree fittings,restriction gauge would go to 4-5,with a fs1000 filter,and now 0-1 with fs1023,engine starts great,no misses,air filters are always changed often,and I'm getting 85-90psi at idle,and I've never done any of the other checks,but I will start,here in a few days from now,thanks for the info,and I'll let you know,what I come up with!

Check vents on the fuel tanks. Maybe fuel pump can pull against the vacuum for cruising speed but when you ask for more it can't vent the tank quickly enough. Quick and cheap to check.

Thanks Dryver,I clean them out quite often,I'm beginning to wonder,if the fuel transfer pump on the front of the motor,is the culprit,it was shimmed, but it didn't seem to help one bit!

If the fuel lines have never been replaced, I would replace them, over time they start to swell and will restrict fuel flow.
6nz-kw Thanks this.
