The passenger side fuel tank on my k104 slipped forward and 2 of the bolts on the battery box rubbed thru causing holes. We tried filling them with need it which worked for a bit but now I gotta block the tank off to get home. Just wondering what would be the easiest way to do that on the side of the road? I have heard u can use a coin?

Not sure if you have a valve on the drivers side tank, but close it or pinch the crossover to keep fuel from transfering over. Jam a rag with a screwdriver to slow it down and get the heck out of there. If EPA catches you leaking fuel, it's a huge fine.

got to plug the return line,,can disconnect the return line at the tank and put something to block the flow,,I cut a coke can once and made a restriction to block the fuel from retuning to the tank..after I drew down the bad tank I then blocked the suction line,,i was lucky I had a valve on the suction line,
I was between san Antonio and fort Stockton when a 4 wheeler pulling a trailer full of old toilets passed me and o toilet fell of right in front of me,,could not avoid it and the debris punched a whole in my right tank,,sucked I had an oversize load on an need to meet a ship in long beach,,lost 100 gal of fuel and 2 hours,,made my delivery and found a local shop in ling beach patched my tank for $150, I seen an other driver with a damaged tank that plugged the hole temp with a wood plug,,

Hi Pahrump, A LOAD OF TOILETS, Good Lord.:biggrin_2559: One thing about trucking all these years, you sure hear some crazy stuff. I had a friend once hit a freakin' battery in the road, took out his crossover line, I think that's why they did away with those crossover lines under the truck.

Try a bar of soap on the leak.. Seriously.
I've seen it work for several hours on some small and large holes.

And maybe fold return line and clamp with vice grips.

Cut a green branch and drive into the hole for a plug. For the return line, disconnect it and insert a bolt, or more wood from branch/twig, then put a hose clamp on it.
