Thank you!

Have you found out any info on the best way to do this. I'm looking to put an L hood on my model B.

Boys it's cheaper to buy the truck you want. A lot less headache to. There are so many little things that the common eye doesn't see when looking a project like that over. Course I'm just giving friendly advise or insight for what it's worth.

Thank you, advice is greatly appreciated but I enjoy a nice project. Just looking to see if anyone who has done it has any insight.

I'm pretty sure that a B model has a taller wider radiator. Having to change the rad and rework the cooling system will add a significant cost into this project.

Well if I was to tackle the project I believe I would buy a L model frame in the wheel base I wanted and move all my drive train over. The rails will pretty well be stripped anyway by the time you move fuel tanks, crossmembers a mag drill will really be handy. Also keep in mind you have to fill the original holes with bolts or weld per DOT specs.
Really that's just getting started, we built enough wrecks back when and done some spec changes from C13 to 15 etc to learn nothing is easy as it seems. Course all that being said if I liked the truck thought it was worth it yea I would tackle itLast edited: Jan 22, 2015

The front frame rails on both the long and short hood are the same, from what I see I was thinking of unbolting the front section sliding it forward then modifying the coolant hoses/ radiator and adding electric fans. Just a thought at this point, I think this way has a bit less frame drilling and filling

Electric fans won't cut it. When KW made the 007 W9 it looked as though they left the engine in the short hood position and moved everything else forward. I know the engine sat way back from the fan. There was a machined aluminum extension between the fan hub and the fan blades to get the fan up close to the shroud where it should be. I don't remember what year the 007 was built but it looked like an experimental version of the current L model.
Mbittle121 Thanks this.
