My previous trucks had mirrors mounted on the door. And knock on wood, I have never had one knocked off, but a friend of mine did and of course he had to have a new door. I just got a T-300 and it has the mirrors mounted to the cab front post frame and they do seem to stick out a lot. If one ever got hit, I think it would do a lot of damage and not easy as replacing a door. My question is, do they make any type of bracket that would brake away in case of hitting a object?.

The newer truck mirrors are designed to fold inward if hit or to fold inward if the vehicle has to be towed
