This for air cooled (water cooled I don't know - would have to look at - mine is air) Drain oil from trans. Remove line. Take to local NAPA they can make you a new one in about 5 minutes. I'd do both while I was at it. Will cost you about $50. I'd put new synthetic 50w oil in the trans also while at it. That stuff is pricey I think was almost $200 for a 5 gallon bucket, which is enough. Reinstall lines. Pump oil into trans until it's at the bottom of fill hole. Start engine and let run a couple of minutes so the pump can run it into the cooler. Shut down. Check for leaks and top off again. Done. Also, look to make sure the lines don't chaff against anything that will rub a hole in them. If they do just take some old 3/4" water hose, chop in 6" length, slit that down the side, slip over your trans oil line, zip tie it in place...

It's not that bad but a real dirty and messy job. You will need a hand pump to put the oil back in. You will also need a long hose going from the pump to the trans. The container will not fit under the truck. You will also need another person to pump the oil while you hold the hose into the trans.

You can but you'll make a helluva mess without proper stuff. A catch basin mainly. Also gonna need a pump for a 5 gallon pail. You'll have to drain the oil - no way around it. If it's not leaking badly just wait to you get home - watch the oil level til then.

Is it just dripping? I wouldn't even worry about it. Deal with it when you get home.

You can make a bypass line if you want. You don't really need to cooler. You just make a small line the connects to both fittings. Your trans will run hotter but no big deal

You can't plug it. You need to return the oil back in. There is a pump in your trans for the oil cooler so you can't close it up. If you call road service or pop into a TA they can make a loop hose
