ON my company 2006 T600 with the Cummins ISX motor I have no control over the temperature in the cab. I have either hot air and 4 speeds of the blower or if I shut my water valves then the AC will kick in and I will freeze in the early am. What controls the temperature inside the cab? I know the knob on the dash should control it but it doesnt matter if I turn the temp hotter or colder it doesnt matter. WIth my water shut off valves under the hood the ac doesnt get the cab cool but the compressor will kick on. I did have the blower motor replaced when it went bad and also had the box under the dash opened up and cleaned all the dust and what not out from in there. Is there anything that may have been knocked loose or is there a sensor that tell what temp it should be at.

Heater control valve under the HVAC box under the hood is leaking coolant through. You need a new heater control valve.

Mine was an '05 with an Acert, Turn your temp knob all the way one way or the other look at the valve and see where it's arm is pointed, then turn it all the way the other way, the valve arm should swing about 140*. if the arm isn't moving see if you can move it by hand, if it moves fairly easy AND changes the air temp then it is either the cable or god help you the control unit in the dash those puppies are about $500.00 American.

It could just be the little motor that controls the climate control flap. They're like 100 bucks or so from a KW dealer. My brothers 07 600 just had one replaced. Not sure of the details but his would only blow hot air unless the heater hose valves were shut off. Then it would blow cold when ac was on. The little black control motor or whatever it's called was bad. Thinking his was mounted under the hood on the firewall, but not for sure. He has a CAT in his so not sure if that would relate to your situation but......thought I'd throw it out there.....

Is there a way to test voltage at the wiring for the heater control valve under hood? If the dash controls work then voltage should be detected at the plug correct?

KW wanted to charge me $600 for the control unit in the dash , they dropped the price to $515 after I started laughing at them !

So i finally had a guy help me work the temp control as I watched the actuator and the actuator is working. So that tells me the valve is junk and as stated above is letting coolant thru. Now to convince cheapskate boss to buy the part. Its the only thing it can be at this point.
