Ok I had my OR7205 turbo go come apart on me the other day I went and bought a T704604-11 from Diesel Injection it supposed to have same internals as the OR7923 with a custom cast house to dissipate tge heat better all seems fine except at approximately 22-24 psi of boost I am hearing a whine in it it dont seem to happen below or above that just right in that range. Anyone have a clue what it maybe?
I tried spraying a little either near each boot and clamp just to see if it speed up the engine thinking a clamp may be not sealed all the way but nothing.

My turbo on my Detroit whined when it was new and took about a month to go away.
-
Ok so may just be break in
-
I had one on a Mack do that didn't go away and they replaced the internals
-
When you posted about that in the other thread, I don't remember you saying anything about cleaning the intake piping and the charge air cooler. It might be possible that you sucked in some debris and have damaged the fins on the new turbo if that's the case.
tsavory Thanks this. -

Those pieces can go everywhere, real common for them to blow debris back into the air cleaner(s) as well.

Guess I will be up early and tearing it apart to see if an fins are messed up and checking air cleaner and atleast the ports on the cooler dang it I hope nothing went wrong if so guess it gives me a reason to swap it ti a BW sooner rather than later just needed to get going and the DI was close and in stock

I did a thread a couple of weeks ago when my turbo blew up in the garage section. You most definitely need to take all the piping off and apart piece by piece up to the air filter. Throw the air filter away, look inside of it, bet money it has pieces if turbo fins in it. Clean the housing replace with new filter. Clean all those elbows really good, reassemble. Remove hump boots and that piping clean all that. At least shop vac out your CAC on the hot side. Really it's a good idea to remove it and steam clean the oil out. I was told by several people taking all that stuff before the air goes into the turbo apart and making #### sure it was clean was important in order to not destroy the new turbo. After finding all the pieces I now see why. You may end up with another turbo failure on your hands soon.

Took and pulled apart fins look fine no play and took a rag wiped out all tubing I could get off to filter and the CAC did pick up a few chips and kinda a dust. Hope it will last till I get home and can pull everything
