Hello! I have a 2001 W-900B and the cruise control has been having this intermittent issue. It mostly happens after I have used it to adjust up the idle, then when I am on the road and try to set the cruise it won't take and if I hold the switch in the set position the check engine light will come on and flash 5 times. It doesn't do this all the time just on occasion. I installed a Bully Dog Big Rog tuner and it doesn't show that any DTC's are present. Anyone have any ideas or experienced this before?
Thank in advance.

make sure the pedals aren't resting against the button.

I am back on this issue now. When you try to set the cruise it flashes a 6/2 code which Motor Power Kenworth says is a low coolant code and has nothing to do with it, but that is only time it does it. I finally had my wife ride along and count the flashes to I could get the code right. I am not sure what the button looks like that the pedal might be resting on. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary under the throttle pedal.

Check to make sure your clutch pedal is returning all the way up. There's a safety switch on the clutch pedal and if pedal isn't returning all the way up cruise and jakes won't work.

My 2010 W900 has an occasional issue after using high idle. DIS tells me to apply brake and then reset cruise. Works every time. I don't think it is a defect, it's just the computer programing.

...so i tapped on the clutch switch with a screwdriver (mostly because I could really get to it to remove it) and flipped the throttle pedal back and forth and smacked it down good a few times (engine off of course) and so far the cruise has been working. Not sure what I did to get it back.....

Probably knocked some dirt out of the switch or moved it around... LOL
When mine does not work or the jake does not work then I just lift on the pedal and all is good. Of course mine is a 94
