Currently in DE. Just dropped my trailer, put myself oos, and bobtailing back towards central Jersey. I've called 2 shops and both told me to call back tomorrow but are booked solid through Thanksgiving.. There's a Kw dealer by my house, but that would be outrageously expensive..

That will be the best way if you can shop around and find the shop that wont put a rebuilt clutch an press. plate in with/out turning flywheel and then charge you for new parts!

If you purchase an Eaton replacement,it will be new. They don't produce a rebuilt for ultra shift yet.Be prepared for the cost though. It is close to $1000 just for clutch.Labor should not be any different than normal, unless they charge for being a larger/heavier than normal clutch assembly.Good luck.

It feels like a whole new truck. It even fixed problems i didn't know i had. and given me an increase in mpg as well. the old clutch was so bad that the pucks were worn down to the rivets and every spring pocket was cracked.. it was one load away from exploding

    baha Thanks this.

I have a 2012 International Prostar with the Ultrashift that is skipping gears and getting hung in a gear. When it gets hung in gear, the driver has to pull over and shut the truck down, then start over and it will usually shift. It has to be done a few times per day. I was told at the local shop that the clutch was worn out and it needs to be changed, but the Inertia Clutch was okay. I priced a new clutch and it was $2,000 just for the Clutch! Does this sound Right? I saw your $2,900 bill and it sounds like the Clutch was 2 grand.

Hello folks. I hope I'm doing this right..here goes. I'm having this same issue with one of our company trucks (04 Int 8600), and I wonder if anyone thnks a new clutch might solve the problem if it's a manual gear box? New tranny last year, new turbo 3 years ago. I'm admittedly hard on it due to the nature of what I have to do (set septic tanks), but I've asked the mechanic if it's my driving but he says he doesn't think so. My symptoms are the same, except I can add that a couple times while accelerating, my truck went beyond "slipping" and the bootom fell straight out. Turbo chirped a couple times as it pegged and struggled to climb back up RPM's. Scared the hell out of me. Just got it back from mechanics, they said they couldn't find the problem, but it is NOTICABLY better. As it seems each time it comes back from service, but day by day it will get worse until the next service or I complain enough to get a special visit to them. This has been going on for years, and although we trust our mechanic shop, they haven't been able to solve the issue. Would appreciate any information. Thank you.
