odometer/trip meter quit working

    Does a 2001 w900l speedometer have a cable or is it on a wire and sensor? Anyway, been hearing a clicking noise while driving coming from the dash where the speedo is. Noticed when I got home my trip meter and odometer not reading what is should have. Sensor? Speedo head?

    if your speedometer still works then it is the internal gears in the speedometer,,the speedometer is electronic,,,a sensor is mounted on the rear of the transmission..keep pushing the odometer reset button and see if it frees up the gears or take it out and bang it a few times,,
