So my kW is squealing at 1500+ rpm. Open the hood and look from the passenger side and the belts are ####ed at an angle at the ac pump. It looks like the alternator got knocked out of alignment and seems that it's further forward then the ac pump. Any thoughts on how to adjust that?? The alternator has 3 different bolts on it. Also it's on a cat 3406e. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Sparky,if your pictures are accurate, then your AC pump is not aligned.
in your first picture there is more space at the top then at the bottom off the pulley.

I would start from the cranckshaft pulley at check the alignment from there to both the AC and the alternator.

Yeah I thought ac at first but didn't know how that would get knocked out of alignment. I figured the alt maybe got knocked forward

Also if I remember correctly looking from the drivers side the belt appears straight going down from the ac

Chances are that something is cracked or broken. I went through the same thing. It was my A/C compressor mounting bracket. My engine is a Detroit. It wasn't obvious until my mechanic took some parts off and found it. My belts were jumping off.

AC or alt could be busted, bearings, brackets. Could be an idler if you have one.

Ac is fine. Something is up with the alt. it looks like it's pushed forward a half inch or so
