Hi everybody and happy new year,
this is is my first experience with KW2012
this truck has over 700k miles
after driving this truck for 500miles......all sort of problems appeared
yellow chk engine
red stop engine light
I took the truck to desiel Michanic and we found out that the DPF has crack and smoke comes out from there
the Michanic welded that piece of DPF
and when he actually started working on the truck all chk engine lights disappeared! But he couldn't do the regen!!!!!
I started driving and. After 200miles the yellow&red engine light came on and the regen sign.
now when I bush the regen button on it gives me (regen inhibited)
thank you you for your advices
i can't find any michanics now, and TA said they only can do diagnose

Happy New Year is only good words I can say to you, sorry.
You have a serious problem with regeneration system. TA mechanics can't help you. They don't have experience and qualification to troubleshoot problems, They can only put new parts on.Your wallet will be drained and truck never fixed. You need mechanic familiar with Insite to run forced regeneration and troubleshoot entire system.
Where are you by the chance I can help ? -
A dealer is your only hope...... And I don't know what you "welded" but it may void any warrantee you have....
Is it a isx or a mx.....? -
Had that issue with a RED colored motor. Dealer found a bad sensor located in the filter somewhere,,,was an easy fix but he used his computer to locate and verify.

dpf only comes with 250k mile, can be extended to 500k mile for a price. his truck has 700 so he's outta warranty anyways.
the problem could be any number of things, from a bad dpf to a sensor. and only the dealer can help.
mine was the dpf, cost was $4500 to replace. -
I think with the miles your ready for a new DPF. I got 600,000 out of mine then needed to replace it. $1100 for the part and $115 for the dealer to reset the code after it was installed.

Also sounds like you have recourse against seller. It appears you have driven the truck less than a thousand miles so I'm thinking yes......
Be aware though...any second line seller like Arrow is not going to pay dealer prices....he will want to use his preferred shop.

vegas tried to sell me a dpf clean. apparently FL's have a mileage counter that trips the engine light. to have it cleaned. vegas doesn't have a machine. they send dpf's out. charge is $2400. salt lake did the cleaning for $1200. they have a machine.
you would think that if your dealer, you'd have the all the equipment needed to service trucks. specially since dpf's have been out 8 years now. but apparently it's too expensive for the vegas dealer to buy. -
in Detroit area,$200 for basic cleaning.$500 if it has to be "baked"24 hr.turn around time.
