Been working with hood most of the day today. I've been all over it trying to find the problem and all I can come up with is those metton braces seem to have just gotten tired/fatigued. Lots and lots of flexing. I cut and added some thin aluminum pieces on the back side of the rear brace. The aluminum is thin enough that it still has a little flex to it but it stiffened it up tremendously. I've yet to drive it since I done this but I can tell it's gonna be a big improvement, or atleast I hope so.
rollin coal Thanks this. -
Those are awesome looking braces. Did they help?

They did help a good bit. Stiffened the rear of hood up a good bit but I still got some shake I shouldn't have. May have to do the front brace the same but it's gonna be a little more involved if I do. It's not as thick as the rear brace and I'll have to take the grille out to get to it. Gonna look it over some more over the weekend. -
This is my W9 with the hood trouble. I think most of my hood trouble is due to what I'm hooked to in this pic. Lol!
This is a recent pic.
snowman_w900 and magoo68 Thank this. -
i think about this situation all the time. I have had 3 W9 aerocab Kenworths. The only thing I can remember as shaking was the movement that takes place where the cab and the hood meet. As a few days it wasn't an issue. Today I came up with the possibility of the cab/sleeper itself moving and causing some of this problem. You have covered so many hood issues that it might be time to start looking in other places.
