Shifter extension? Funny, I used to cut the shifter's down.
yeah in them old 359's it was kinda narrow between the seats so anything to make it easy for a chubby girl was always in order

I doubt it would be because it is something they didn't do as opposed to something done incorrectly. It should be done now if it wasn't done at the time of the rebuild. IMO it should not cost you if they know anything about good customer relationships. Take it a step at a time. Don't condemn them until you know what they did and what is wrong. Good Luck

Hi Dale, aw, chubby is such a harsh word. I prefer "particularly visible".:biggrin_2559: Years ago, I drove an old IH gas job with a set of clubs, and I heated up the aux. stick and bent it so I could shift it with one hand while still shifting the main box. I knew a guy with a W-900 that cut the shifter down to about a foot. That was a little much. Some shifters were just too high for me, and I'd cut about half a foot off. Just could feel the gears better, and you wouldn't bang your elbow on the back of the cab.

I had thought about shortening mine but I was concerned how it would work. For me I think a foot might be too much off it. I just might try something though.

Hi bigguns, I think a foot is a bit much. I drove a '99 Century for a guy, and took off about 4- 5" and that was perfect. The guy that had the 1 foot shifter in the W-900 was one of these guys that took the pedestal out from under the driver's seat and basically sat on the floor. I never liked that and liked a to at least see over the hood. Just make sure you mark the air lines on the shift knob before you unscrew it.
