It's a Cummins, reliability? flip a coin. Yeah, kinda negative I know but I just hear a lot of crap about the red motors. Back in the early 2000's I was a big fan but there current stuff ain't what it used to be.

Get a t-660 instead. They are easier to have worked on and will save you money in the long run.

I like the 680s, but I work on them.. I don't drive them. They do tend to have some issues with the seals around the windshields from the factory, and I've known them to be prone to losing wheel seals initially, although it doesn't tend to be a recurring problem at any abnormal interval.
Cummins has a pretty easy aftertreatment system to work on, although now the DPF is stacked atop the SCR on the right side of the truck... the only ones I've had to remove the DPF from were 2014 models so far, and the 2015s looks like you'll have to drop both the SCR and DPF in order to service the DPF, unless you can remove the side fairing and get it out that way... on a bright note, the DEF doser is a hell of a lot easier to access.
If you plan on running in the 68 - 70 MPH range, might be better off to run 3.36s... I know at 1400 RPMs (Cummins prescribed "sweet spot" for their Family 1 engines, with a .74 OD transmission, 3.36 rears, and 295/75R22.5 tires, that puts the truck right at 67 MPH.

    jameson1985 Thanks this.

The T680's and T880's are the only ones like this and you have to take the entire front of the DPF box apart to remove them. PIA. All other models still have the DPF on the bottom where it is easy to remove for cleaning, not to mention they are easier to get under.

Yeah, that's one of the first things I noticed when I crawled under a 2015 vs. a 2014. My first thought was, "what a pain in the nuts that's gonna be". Granted, yeah, the DEF doser is more accessible, but I'd dare say DPF cleanings/replacements are a lot more common than anything with the DEF doser. With luck, it won't be my problem... I'm looking for heavy equipment mechanic jobs, and, while I'll still be willing to work on daycabs or vocational trucks... or even sleeper trucks used in those roles...., I'm planning on never wrenching on OTR trucks again after this job.
