should be about the same as any other truck. steering gear box, drag link ball joints king pins spring bushings clutch rod bushings on the trans throw out bearing, s cams slack adjusters at each wheel position and u joints
ralin10 Thanks this. -
yep....ez nailed it.....any ball joint/bushing/bearing/something that moves against something else.....crawl under and have a look around, you'll see em......
ralin10 Thanks this. -
don't forget some of the uncommonly places also, like the hood mounted to the frame. those 2 pivot mounts have bushings. and grease zirks.
anything that moves on something will have a bushing and grease fitting, just have to look around.
all steering and suspension components. drive lines. brake adjusters. the list goes on and on.ralin10 Thanks this. -
i did a quick Google search and didn't come up with any kind of grease point diagrams so i threw this together quick. should point you to at least the general area of most of your grease pointsralin10 Thanks this. -
Thank you very much.

You might have one on each hood latch, as well... some T800s did, some didn't.
Upper and lower kingpins, tie rod ends, pittman arm, two on the steering column, steering gear box, three on the transmission, one on the transmission shift linkage, the driveshafts, the S-cam bushings, and the slack adjusters.ralin10 Thanks this. -
Don't forget the one on the seat. I am not sure where the fitting is,,,but that mechanic found away to get the seat greased .
in case you are a newbie a spray bottle of Green Lightning cleaner will remove every bit of grease from fabric with no staining. ( my trainer managed to get the entire load of grease from 5th wheel deck plate onto the back of his shirt while removing a lock ) He then managed to smear it into the seat back for 6 hrs. I put a garbage bag over the back for another 6 hrs... Green Lightning removed every bit of grease. It's water soluble citrus based...smelled good too...
sorry to drift off the question....peace. -
I didn't read this thread closely but I think the cross shaft for the clutch and the clutch linkage. Do a proper job of greasing the throwout bearing.

Common places to miss:
3 on the steering shaft, it has to be in the right spot, 2 u-joints 1 slip joint
2 on the clutch linkage, one just below firewall and another further back between the tranny and frame
3 on the transmission, 2 on each side for the cross shaft 1 inside the clutch plate on the throw out bearing
2 on the hood joints
Every wheel end has a zerk on the slack adjuster and cam bushings
Your front springs have 3 each
king pins have 2, top and bottom
Some steering boxes have 1
drag link have one at each end
Each u-joint has one, don't grease too fast, but get grease coming out of each cup
Each slip joint has one, driveshaft and steering shaft
Your seat has one or more, but don't need to be greased very often or much
Some 5th wheels have zerks underneath, some don't
Tie rods have one at each end at the bottom
