I recently had a 2007 T-800 catch fire and be totaled out by the insurance company. The electrical is toast as is the entire cab. I am thinking of maybe having someone go through it and repair the truck. i am located in CT.

Any thoughts as to who may be in the industry that would do this sort of thing.

The entire drive train is fine. The motor will need to be gone through as well seeing a lot of the hoses burnt and a lot of water was shot into the engine area to put the fire out.

The heat the frame took would be more of a concern then anything else. Frankly your looking at some serious $$ even if the frame is good.

Was that the dump truck I saw cooking on Supershowrigs? That's beat to have your truck burn up. I'd expect the frame might have been weakened, if the drivetrain is still good might consider pulling it and putting it in a glider version of a new one. Least that'd keep the price down especially if you have a body to drop on n don't have to buy that again

The frame did not take any heat whatsoever. The fire started at battery cable just above starter and ran upward to the cab.
The fire ever even ran back towards battery box.

No it was a tandem axle day cab. No pics were posted online.

Your talking some HEFTY LABOUR $ on a job like that , lot of hours go into getting everything right , lot of shops do this kind of work but usually on a very vague estimate and lots of extras on cost over runs that's why insurance companies write them off instead of repairing them

If you are absolutely in love with the truck, it can be done. But honestly, you could nearly buy two identical trucks for what it will cost unless you do the wok yourself. If I was in your situation I would probably find another identical truck with a blown engine and put my good engine in it.

if you really are dead set on bringing it back to life, buy a salvage wrecked truck with the same options and gut the interior and electrical out of that to rebuild yours. If you're planning on paying shop rates to have this done, then it won't be worth your $. If you have the means and ability to do it yourself you can save some money, just take it apart and reinstall as you took it off.

Don't bother gutting one cab and putting the parts into your cab. Go find a cab you like (maybe even better option wise). Pull your cab which will make it much easier to make any under the cab repairs. Then put the purchased cab on. If you can't do this yourself you will be looking at big bucks.
