Why is Kenworth using Paccar if their reputation is so bad?

Detroit series 60, cummins n14 and isx, CAT pre emissions c15 and 3406e

I'm not sure of many other manufacturers. You can get any of the above in a glider.

Not true, depends on MODEL of Glider you are looking at, for instance, Freightliner Argosy, used to be able to get all you listed PLUS ISM, now, ONLY S60 and ISX.

Also not just Argosy issue, look into the short nose Glider trucks, VERY few options.

New Cascadia Glider, no cat, ISX/S60 only.

Now, if you are looking at JUST the old Coronado/120 Columbia, than that may be the case.

No issues, and the Cascadia IS suppose to have Cat available at some point, but I have not seen one yet, I haven't heard if Kustom Truck has harness complete yet, they are on here, maybe they will chime in.

I really wish our company would order gliders, but whoever is in charge of ordering trucks probably hears "reman" or "rebuilt" engine and say oh no, that's not good. Or something. I HATE these automatic transmissions behind these emission engines, but I like where I work so I stay here.

Anyway, I'll miss our KW'S but I won't miss those paccar engines haha

Daf has been around for decades. They're not well known in the US and I doubt that they are the most popular engine in Europe. That accolade belongs to
Volvo and Scania. Daf used to make these pokey little cars with a weird auto called an implimatic. So who knows how their big truck engines engines will hold up in the futue.

each manufacturer have its own failures and mistakes,

dont forget scanias strange moves , first egr engines had lot of problems, volvo now get 2 vgt turbos , i guess this would cost 8000€ to exchange .....

Ran a 2012 Pete with a Paccar engine. Engine was actually pretty decent, just had problems with that darned DEF system. And your gonna have problems with that system no matter WHAT engine you use.

Class 8 trucks most sold in EU....................Daf.(Paccar owned and only sold with Paccar engine)
So the most sold is the Paccar engine.
    Second is Volvo.

It should be know that up to '14 they(all brands) were all fixed turbo and SCR only.(there were exemptions, those had EGR engines but results were bad compared to SCR only engines so all brands stopped making EGR only engines)
The 2 brands that have the least fans in the USA.:biggrin_25521::biggrin_2559:
