Got a '01 w900. I like the looks of the round head lights and was wondering if this conversion could be done without changing hoods? Anybody ever done this?

If you're good with filler putty, sanding, and paint, sure. You've seen how the square ones fit into the hood, so you know there'll be a large gaping hole left which will need to be filled in. Then, you figure where you want to mount your round headlights, make sure you can adjust them properly... IMO, it's gonna look a bit odd on a W900 if you're trying to keep the same hood, since you'll end up with that empty void where the square headlights used to be, but it's certainly within the realm of possibility.

I think he's talking about round headlights like A models have. I like the look of it. Wouldn't think the holes would be huge to fill, but might be challenging to get the new hole just right n round.

Ah, I was thinking of the 379-style headlights. IIRC, the round headlights from the A models have a bit more dimension than the square headlights, and the space on the hood for the square headlights doesn't really leave much leeway.

The truck in the chrome shop at Iowa 80 has a round headlight attached to the square ones. It looks kinda odd, and I don't know where he got the kit or if it was something custom made.

check out jones performance hoods. they sell the headlight assembly. they also make a complete hood with the a model headlights. but if you can do minor fiberglass work its not a major job
