Hey Everyone...I have a 2007 KW W900L I bought brand new and in the past couple of months I have been thinking about converting the sofa/bed to a fulltime bed. Sofa is nice and all but with that "ridge" in the middle where the cloth gap pulls tight can be nerve-wracking. I have been sleeping on the top bunk for quite a while as a result. I sleep good but I really would like the bigger bed "downstairs". Any advice on parts or procedures would be GREAT!! I hope everyone has safe and profitable trucking. In case it is pertinent....I have a 72 inch Aerocab Aerodyne VIT interior with a ThermoKing apu with Espar type cab heater. Thanks for your time.

What if you just open the sofa bed and put a mattress on top, so if you ever sell it and the new owner wants the sofa bed it will be an easy fix. Other ways if you have any carpentry skills and few basic tools, you can build a base with 3/4 plywood and put a mattress on top, you can install the plywood under the mattress with hinges so it will swing open, and use the space for storage. If you can't build it yourself hire a carpenter to build it for you.

I agree with Patronas01. Just pull the upper bunk mattress down and put it on the folded down sofa. Try it a week or two to see if it feels good. If so, then spend the money on a better mattress to use.

Instead of taking out the old cushion you could put a memory foam pad on top of that old cushion. At least you wouldn't feel that crease. That would be the easy way.
