I purchased a 2001 international 8100 series daycab. found a flatbed company to work for but they asked me if the truck could gross 80,000 pounds. I looked at the sticker in the door jam and found it says 48,000. what I cant figure out is that the gross weight of tractor and trailer or is that just the tractor.im just trying to figure out if the truck can haul 80,000 or should I just sell and get a bigger truck. any help appreciated.

    Isn't an 8100 a single axle?

If it's a tandem axle, it should be able to gross 80,000.

If it's a tandem axle then 80k is legal. A single axle I think 66k or 68k gross, not sure.
