The verticle bolt that drops down thru the sleeve (sleeve that goes thru the bushing) and goes thru the slotted hole of the bracket (top & bottom part of bracket is slotted).... ...that bolt has a self locking nut on the bottom.

    1) Is that self locking nut just supposed to be tightened enough on the threads to where the stack can move freely backwards and forwards in the slots.

    2) Or do you position that sleeve/bolt in the slot where you want it and snug the self locking nut to where it's locked in that one spot and cannot move back and forth in the slots?

I've got it tightened to where it can't move freely (2) but it seems like it should be able to move freely back and forth in the slots in conjunction with the ball socket bushing as the truck bounces down the highway?

But I'm not sure how to set it can anyone with a KW that knows what I'm talking about tell me how to set it? Originally what I had was jerry rigged in the old worn out bushings so I have no idea how this would have been done from the factory. I can post pics if it helps.

I've worked on Ptb. and they are tight from the factory. My opinion is you have them the way they are supposed to be.

Yeah that's what Oscar said. Mine are slotted aftermarket for 6" pipes. Originals from the factory for 5" just have holes drilled in them so really there is no need for play there. They're tight and everything looks good after a little test spin on some rough roads.
