    When I left, my miles ran anywhere from 1500 - 2000 miles/wk.

No, they are not on electronic logs....still have to do it by hand on paper.

They are leasing Columbias and Cascadias (Freightliners for the uninitiated)...although last I heard, they were mostly leasing Cascadias with few Columbias left.

Truck payment is going to depend on the truck. Some of the trucks are driver turn-ins where you simply finish out the remainder of the lease. I'm not sure if they are doing shorter lease terms with the same payment as the original driver or if they are allowing the new driver to take a longer term. Price also depends on the mileage on the truck.

My fixed expenses (insurances) were 87.27/wk. Then add your truck payment and maintenance escrow (they no longer offer the "guaranteed maintenance" if I recall right). I'm not sure what they are taking out per mile for the maintenance escrow now but you have to build it up to a $5000 minimum.

I'm at the hotel and my orientation with Schneider starts at noon tomorrow. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I hope you're not on the KLLM thread lookimg for better miles....because you're NOT going to find them here Carolina. I speak from experience. Not only is KLLM having issues keeping people rolling, but you will find yourself sitting inordinate amounts of time for any and all types of maintenance AND reefer, at least with KLLM, is MOSTLY live load/unload. Drop and hook is the exception...not the rule....and all of those live load/unloads eat your time like a fat kid in a candy store. I sat at some shippers for 13-24 hours after my appointment times (meat loads...chicken...beef) waiting to be loaded, had to sit on loads all weekend waiting to deliver on Monday, had CS screw up the appointment time (telling me PM instead of AM) causing me to sit on a load another 24+ hours before I could deliver the load. On the heels of that last one I was then run around for 3 days while they sent me to get an empty trailer that didn't exist at a customer 60 miles away....TWICE....costing me another 2 days.

I'm a patient person...I can take a lot....and I will ALWAYS do everything I can think of to try my best to discuss and solve problems before I ever consider picking up and moving on. I found myself having to address the same issues over and over and over and over again....and nothing ever changed. So I left.

I drove for KLLM from 06-09. They where a good company before Jim Richards took over. It seemed to me at least that ever since he took over it's just been slowly sliding downhill. Never did the L/P there but a few friends who run out of portage have been telling me that they are pushing people company drivers to switch over. Like I said I quit in 09 so I don't know if it's true or not. Would like to think my friends wouldn't lie to me but you never know.

Wow... read the entire thread as well.. holy crap..

Here at USX the L/P is a PoS at best. I'm a company team driver, and the last time I went to a terminal I talked with 3 drivers who were turning back in their trucks due to low miles. What a shame.. ;(

So Roadtoad, are you going company or "rolling the dice" on L/P? Keep us informed! :)
