leave the beer and pot at home..strike that. dont go if you are at all unsure about your drug test result. reschedule for a couple months down the road. pop positive for drugs and you may find you have a minimum five year wait before anyone will let you drive a truck. assuming you are clean, pay attention, try not to ne nervous when you actually get behind the wheel (ok thats not quite possible, but try to relax anyway) and have fun darn it. if youve decided to drive a truck for a living, then decide to enjoy it. outlooks can change, but if you keep a positive outlook its much more likely youll be happier in general

    RoscoeVanDamme Thanks this.

I assume that you're out with a trainer now. How's it going out there?

Yes, I am out with a trainer and it is going great, I'm having a blast. And fortunately, my trainer is actually training me. He is refusing to run as a team to the load planner until he feels I am ready. So far, in my first week, we have been to Colorado, Wisconsin, Kansas, Tennessee, Missouri, and Nebraska. Looking forward to the next several weeks.

Good deal.My trainer was the same way with me.We ran as a team after a week,3 weeks before he let me do the night driving. That was a year and a half ago.I still talk to him about once a week, even though he's at another company now.My truck and I were in 46 states within 6 months.have fun and be safe!

You only have to go through one trainer, unless your trainer has issues with his truck or you two just do not get along. In ode to become a trainer, you must have two years of safe miles, meaning no tickets, no accidents, in your first two years with KLLM.

But many do. It's all about knowing how to manage your money, time, knowing what loads to take and what loads to refuse. Majority of the company is lease operators.
