Ok so is KLLM really this bad or are you just a pissed employee??? We are part of FFE that was just "merged" with KLLM and we can not afford to get chitty miles. we are team drivers -
There is not one company anywhere that is perfect.
and yes, all lease drivers pay for repairs. Thats why we get paid more.
and yes, being able to choose loads is a huge incentive. but no they absolutely do not allow us to swap at the end of a run just to get out of a long deliver. psh I wish!
When that happens its usually because they preplanned me on a run with no time to screw around.
I will admit my miles have been sucking the past two months.
and night dispatch pisses me off a lot.

really there that bad , I thought they were like all the other companys were you go were you want to go get there when you feel like it and make 75000 a year , you make kllm sound like its a real job

I am currently at Kllm and leasing. However, I run for the Tyson account. I am happy over here. Miles are good, stay moving pretty steady. As far as waiting, its reefer what do you expect!? The lease purchase over here is not as bad as a lot. Problem is majority of people who lease don't actually treat it as "your own business" so you don't do any math or run any numbers before accepting a load. That means less money. I didn't get into these lease though to pay the truck off. Just wanted to have first hand experience on running and operating a truck. Have my money saved up and my credit is where it should be so now I move on. Its all what you make it, for the most part.

Must be new, our maintenance tops at 5k.

I believe students rcv 32 cpm after training. being a team, we went straight into a lease.

I transferred from FFE lease to KLLM lease. I am making more money now than I did with FFE. My truck payment is lower and I no longer have to pay for the base plates. Sure, it is not perfect and you have your good weeks and bad weeks. At one point I was considering moving on to another company, but chose to stay. Sure, I can turn down loads, but I don't. Turning down a load does not help me at all. Also, if a L/O turns down a load, there is no layover pay if there are no other loads available. Since I have been with under KLLM, I have only turned down a load once, and that was because I didn't have the hours to available to make the run.
You really do have to run like a business. If you don't; you will fail. The thing that makes most people fail is that they don't watch their fuel cost. They still run like they are a company truck. Sure, KLLM will give a L/O a fuel route and how much to fuel to put in; but you ain't gonna make no money. I just delete the fuel route and fuel when I need to and try to run my truck off the fuel surcharge. I am driving a 2013 Cascadia and I am averaging 7.8mpg. But, I also have wheel covers on the drives and aero covers on the steers. I brought my truck over from FFE and it is set up differently from what KLLM normally buys. I have the air bag dump switch and optimize idle so I don't have to idle my truck full time.
The maintenance escrow does cap out at $10,000 at a rate of $0.11 per mile til that cap. After that, the $0.11 goes back to you in your paycheck. Also, why would the company pay for the miles you drive to go from last receiver to home? That makes no sense. You are going home. You are not making the company any money by driving home; so why should you make money to drive home.
Would I say that KLLM is perfect? No, not by any means. Just like any other company, they have their ups and downs and it is a matter of rather or not you can make it work for yourself. Some can and some can't. To tell everyone to avoid KLLM is about as effective as telling someone to avoid CRE. They are going to go work where they want when they want regardless of what anyone says.haulit6272, cotnmth, Swamprat55 and 1 other person Thank this.
