Ive been working for KLLM for a few months now and it seems as if I am constantly sitting and waiting on loads.
you have to wait several hours to get loaded and unloaded at the shippers and consignee. Even if i arrive on time i still end up waiting for hours on end. My dispatch is out of Atlanta GA. She will send you on a load with no pickup number, and give you wrong arrival times which result in fines. Owner operating my truck has been hell. On average i get 3 loads a week, decent miles but you end up waiting all day to get unloaded or load.
Night dispatch is no help at all...why are they even there? My last paycheck has been 300$ after expenses and if you scan your bills in late you will be paid the following week. I feel unappreciated in my effort to arrive on time, even if im purposely given the load late. They have their favorites i suppose. I try to remain calm and professional but my experience as a owner operator is not so good. I dont go home and I've not had a 34hr reset in 4 weeks. Im available for loads but yet my days are filled with waiting and sitting. Time is money and i feel they could care less. Dispatch act as if giving you loads is doing you a favor versus treating me like a man with a family and a truck payment

I was with CRETE. Some of their freight is drop and hook. Not as much waitng as reefer. Their info on loads is 99 percent correct. I leased my truck there and made decent money. The pay practical miles too. An older truck could be more economical for you. Good luck.

Can you take the truck and go drive for somebody else? Maybe get your loads off of load boards? Sorry, I'm not a LP or an O/O, I just read alot on here. There was a Schneider thread where one of them said He was on percentage and could book his own loads. Maybe that would be a better route for you? I would have a very difficult time allowing someone else to have that much control over my business. Especially if they that incompetent.

he's not a lease purchase either. as i highly doubt he'll ever have the clause or the finances to buy the truck.
rental operator is the term.
but why you rental operators consider yourselves o/o is beyond me also. i'd like to know that answer as well. -

Another sad post about how a driver didn't do due diligence before signing a lease, how many people have been complaining about KLLM? I feel for you but what you see is what you get! I would get away asap!
