Thanks for responding blairandgretchen.. I wasn't planning on doing lease purchase since I'm new to trucking, I figured company driver would be the best route to go. Have you worked for kllm?? If so is there any other information you could share with me about the company? D

I don't drive for them but got this info from their website, I am sure you probably seen this.

3 to 6 weeks with trainer
    $400 per wk during training
Riders have to be over 12 yrs old
    No border crossing
    No New York city
    70 % drop and hook
10 speed transmissions, not sure which trucks they have
    Governed at 61-65 mph

No, I've never worked for them.
I know they've started pushing the lease purchase.
Last driver I talked to wasn't that happy with them, but you can make almost anything work with the right attitude.

We all gotta start somewhere. Dig in, listen up, ask questions. Work hard. Be respectful.

Good luck. Post your experience on here, good or bad.

Everything you want to know has been answered, and answered recently so it should be current info. Just search the forum.

The only thing new is they are offering slightly decent health insurance due to the Affordable Care Act, and we now get to pull crappy FFE trailers around.

I don't get down to jackson so I don't know the current condition of the construction on the terminal or if the driver college dormitory is completed.

I just completed my third year with KLLM. Never leased. Some guys are doing great with the lease program, some not.

Feel free to ask me anything you like and to PM me.
