The keys to a successful lp is:
Keep the miles up. If they start to fall, find out why. To much time off, dispatcher, brake downs, etc.
Tightly control your biggest variable expense, fuel. You MPG and how much you pay per gallon.
Use an accounting firm that provides reports, learn how to read them. Or even better use your own accounting program, learn it well.
Learn the lanes that will keep you moving.

I leased with them and loved it.
I teamed with my hubbs and so there were two of us and only one truck note.
We took time off here n there, but really it was us who weren't cut out for OTR.
Switched to a local fuel hauling company. We make less but we sleep at home.
And if I ever want to go OTR I'll definitely lease a truck from KLLM again.
Also, you don't need to save for fuel, as stated above you will get a comdata card & they top you off before your first load.
Always give your ETA even if its 48 hrs away and you should get a preplan.
And if Rick Morgan is your dispatcher tell that ####### that we still love him lol -
People trip me out bashing "lease purchase" drivers...Im trying to get financed from a dealer, but if i cant im defintely going the lease route...And also what if i told you "bashers" that you are crazy for driving a truck and being away from your family weeks at a time? Would i be wrong for saying that? Would i be wrong for saying OTR trucking is the lowest form of trucking? So with that being said, lets stop bashing each other and support each others decisions..please
