Prime and Kllm are starter companies. I work for Kllm and its just like every other big company.

First thing I pay 515 a week on truck note
.11 cent a mile for escrow account to it get to 10,000
That truck will be in the shop and you not filling that account in 1 year and even if you did, year 2 it will be so don't expect it to be full that's not happening

Second thing 3000-3500 miles to make a good week's pay is too many miles to drive in a week and when your lease is complete your truck will have about a million miles.
By the way if anybody thinks they will get 3500 miles is insane and too much wear & tear on you and the truck.

Third thing is if a first time driver not going to stay long, why in the world would you go in Kllm or prime getting a brand new truck please don't do that to yourself

Fourth thing, you can't take alot days off and if you do you want make any money for that week

I'm leaving Kllm next month and going to decker truck lines. I can make the same amount their and drive less miles, so I can afford to take a day or two off and still make a good week's pay

Not trying to be rude or anything, but what do you think you are doing as a company driver because the company is getting paid for your loads and your getting less of the money for the load as company driver or the same as L/O after they pay for maintenance etc but they get the options to choose more?

Do they not have excrow account for you to put money back so you can pay for truck when you take off? Just asking because I know there is maintenance account but you should also have one for days off etc. I do not know how well everyone does or can do there, all I know is as a trainer mine was able to make $72,000 in four months. I think to make it you need to be good with saving for taxes, vacations, maintenance, be willing to drive, have a truck for a business and not for looks, and learn to spec your truck for what you will be doing and to save on mpg.

I was going to say the same thing but you beat me, lol. That is the biggest issue with L/O, they want to become L/O so they can drive fast but when they do that they eat there fuel surcharge. And, the other is buying chicken lights, chrome, and all the other bling bling lol, this is a business not Pimp My Ride lmao. You really need to know how to spec for fuel savings because if you have a truck that is passing everyone on grades then you are also eating your mpg and I can help but laugh when I see them honking and flashing their lights at me when I am slower on the road because I know I will be able to save my fuel surcharge when I lease. I had my trainer when I started freak out, we made a stop to the TA and he looked down to see how many miles mpg I was getting, I think he was about to pass out when he saw I got 9.2 mpg lmao( this was in a 2014 Kenworth T680 but to be honest I don't know all the specs on it because I was not thinking about that at the time).

And, FYI I have 1 1/2 years experience but because all was not OTR I had to go with trainer, and I have been around the trucking business all my life so please spare me your newbie comment.

You did not look into Schneider for Lease? I looked into it and it looked good but I did not go deep into it, I do know they have a load choice board for Teams and another for Solo drivers.

KLLM used to let a driver set up a separate escrow for things like making payments during time off,but I guess it made it too easy to take time off without going in the holr,so they did away with it.

No one is talking about the elephant in the room. I'm talking about the roughly 60% of the new trucks that role out of the factory or dealership are going to have problems. I know what your going to say "I have a warranty" is that warranty going to pay for you to stay in a hotel for days on end while the technicians throw parts at your truck. Is that warranty going to pay your lost wages. It's not so much about a lease purchase they are bad enough but if you can't rely on your equipment you are in deep#####.
