    mhw;

    I have met the Orientation guy (his name is Ed, I think) once. Seems to be a nice guy. That's all I can say about the Orientation area but.......

    Atl yd only takes care of their Drivers who are in the SE Region. Any other Driver; whether OTR or from the other regions, are ignored. I'm OTR and I have worked out a system that works with the Atl yd. I just never go there except for one way; and only this one way. I call ahead and ask for an OTR load. I don't care where it is going. If one is available, I go get it and scram out of there. My personal record is 15 mins. If no OTR loads, then I just sit until I get a load.

    We have a Customer 1 block away from the yard and we have to bobtail out of there and go to the Atl yd. That's why I call ahead to them. Much faster than waiting on Jackson to send me a load.

    I never fuel there cause if something is wrong with Truck or Trailer (They inspect while getting fuel), in the shop it goes and upwards of 5 days before getting it back. My Trainer told me long ago only go there when you are under a load. They can't mess with you. If you go there without a load, they gotcha and Jackson, MS can't do a thing. It is a long fought feud between Jackson and Atlanta and Jackson just gave up and lets Atlanta do what it wants.

    While you're there for class, during the breaks go outside and look towards the entrance/exit and see if you see any Trucks in the Cul-de-Sac? If you do, the Drivers are waiting for loads from Jackson, MS. They don't come into the yard cause once they cross; even a fraction of an inch, into the driveway Atl yd has them. And not a thing Jackson, MS can do.

    Sorry to be so negative about Atl yd and not trying to discourage you from coming to KLLM but just thought you ought to know how the Atl yd works. My system works for me and other Drivers. I tried a few others but this one I described works for me. Thankfully, the other Terminals and yards are normal and not like Atlanta.

    Nope, not a recruiter, just a hard working former US Marine and the first one to tell you that this is not for everyone, I love what I'm doing, every day is a challange and like Scarecrow said, if you're willing to run hard and often for the right company, you'll make good money at KLLM or any of the better outfits. I'm very happy at KLLM, but it doen't mean I'm not open or I'm not looking at better options. I got my training thru Schneider and work at CRST for a few weeks, neither one was the right fit for me. Here at KLLM, I'm good. I'm getting very good miles, lucky to live near a yard so since I'm divorce, all i care about is seeing my child. I see her more now that when I was working local plus a part-time job to make ends meet. Not a recruiter, just a hungry driver and a quick learner.

    That's really weird. When my boyfriend started, he had his temporary paper California license, he didn't get the hard copy until he came home after he upgraded. His home terminal is Jackson, don't ask me why, it seems like he should be under the Fontana terminal.

    Does anyone know anything about CRST buying out KLLM. Saw this on another forum and would like to know before I go to work for them.
