Want to start truckin. Wanted to pay for truck driving course out of my pocket when tax money but that's a bust. Any suggestions. Was thinking about a truck company that offers cdl training but not sure which one to go with for at least a year. Married with two little ones. Please help!!

    Maverick has a good program.

Schneider Bulk(tankers) might pay for CDL school. Ask a Schneider recruiter. You will make good money in tankers your whole career. Hazmat/tanker drivers make $60K-$100K per year.

Swift also has excellent training. If you go with Swift, get all the tanker/hazmat endorsements in case you decide to leave later; you will be prepared to go with tankers.

Yep a lot of my "joes" went w cr England. They liked the fact that they didn't have to pay. But it was a lot of waiting around and they didn't feel they got a good training. Like 10hrs behind the wheel.

Schneider if you live near there rail yards have home everyday jobs available that pay ok. Since you have a couple of ankle biters, you may want to be close.

I would think Prime or Maverick. Both are outstanding companies. I have heard alot of negatives on CR England and Western Express.

All big companies suck, but they're the only ones that will hire new drivers.Pick one, keep your mouth shut,do your job right for 2 years, and then you can get a job anywhere,at almost double the pay the big company paid you. This formula is void if you get mad and change companies 3 times during those 2 years.
